Part-time CIES Job Placement and Support Services Specialist General Statement of Duties:
The Comprehensive Integrated Employment Services program (CIES), funded by the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) is designed to deliver high-quality career development, job readiness training, and workforce programming, and job placement services that are aligned with local labor market needs within the Greater Fall River area.
The program aims to provide participants with high-quality services leading to employment with benefits at family sustaining wages.
Additionally, the program seeks to reduce employment barriers and provide career, technical, and workforce training that improves opportunities and reduces access and engagement barriers for heads of household as they transition off public assistance.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive intake on referred clients Administer testing and assessment Facilitate job readiness activities Resume preparation for CIES participants Counseling CIES participants on vocational, occupational, and personal concerns that may impede success in the job market Develop appropriate job opportunities Help assure that student participation requirements are adhered to Help maintain participant records Enforce program policies for participants Provide input or participate in program development activities Adhere to SER-Jobs' mission Any other duties that arise
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, counseling, or related field, or 3-5 years of relevant work experience Bilingual in Portuguese/English or Haitian/English strongly preferred Knowledge of local job market Experience in individual and group counseling or instruction Willingness to work with disadvantaged populations Strong sense of social justice Excellent oral and written communication skills Flexibility and patience Knowledge of MS Office computer applications Reports to:
